- The Board of Trustees consist of the following make-up:
- Four (4) elected at large from the unincorporated areas of Weber County.
- Five (5) appointed by the municipalities within the District:
- Farr West City
- Hooper City
- Huntsville Town
- Marriott-Slaterville City
- West Haven City
- The Board meets at least monthly, on the second Tuesday, at 5:30 p.m. at the District’s Administrative Offices, at Station 61, located at 2023 West 1300 North, Farr West City, UT. Meetings generally last an average of two hours.
- The Board members are compensated for each regularly scheduled monthly meeting at a rate approved by the Board.
- Duties and responsibilities of the Board are outlined by State Statutes and By-Laws established by the Board.
- The District is administered by a Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Fire Marshal, Administrative Assistant, and a Part-time Administrative Clerk.
- The District includes approximately 511 square miles, consisting of all of the unincorporated areas of Weber County and five cities noted above with appointed representation.
- The District provides fire, emergency medical, hazardous material, and related services out of six (6) stations:
- Station 61, 2023 West 1300 North, Farr West
- Station 62, 5550 East 2200 North, Eden
- Station 63, 4646 West 4000 South, Hooper
- Station 64, 2175 East Eastwood, Uintah Highlands Area
- Station 65, 7925 East 500 South, Huntsville
- Station 66, 3641 West 2200 South, Taylor Area
- Board Member Qualifications
17B-1-302. Board member qualifications -- Number of board members.
- Each member of the board of trustees shall be: 1) a registered voter at the location of the member's residence; and a resident within the boundaries of the district; and if applicable, the boundaries of the division of the local district from which the member is elected.
17B-1-311. Board member prohibited from district employment.
- No elected or appointed member of the board of trustees of a local district may, while serving on the board, be employed by the district, whether as an employee or under a contract.
- No person employed by a local district, whether as an employee or under a contract, may serve on the board of that local district.
17B-1-303. Term of board of trustees members
- The term of each member of the board of trustees shall begin at noon on the January 1 following the member's election or appointment.
- The term of each member of the board of trustees shall be four years, and is not limited in the number of terms the member may serve.
