2026 TAX INCREASE

As our citizens are aware, the District has proposed a tax increase for calendar year 2026. We want our communities to know that we never make these requests lightly. Each of us is a taxpayer as well and understand the financial impact that taxes can have on families and businesses.

Our commitment to you is to be responsible stewards of your tax dollars and to request an increase only when it is absolutely necessary to continue providing safe, effective, and reliable emergency services.

THE WHAT

BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

YOUR SAFETY, OUR MISSION

New spaces for a safer future

The District is proposing:

  1. Two new fire stations. Station 1 will replace Station 63 located at 4646 W 4000 S, West Haven to approximately 5300 W 5500 S, Hooper. Station 2 will be a new station located at 2625 W 3600 S, West Haven.

  2. A training facility, prevention administration building, and training tower located at 2023 W 1300 N, Farr West.

THE WHY

Why do these projects matter:

  1. Replace aging facilities that no longer meet modern safety standards.

  2. Provide safer, healthier spaces for firefighters to train, work, and live.

  3. Ensure faster, more reliable emergency response for our communities.
